Switzerland of the East, Tambunan

I came from a rural area, which located 81km away from Kota kinabalu, a district called Tambunan.
No, It is not as famous as Kota Kinabalu,Tawau,or Sandakan, not even Ranau.
But still, you will miss this place when you live abroad.
Why?

Weather.
Have you read the title? If yes then, now you probably have a little idea on why I love this place in the first time. You might have to bring lather jacket along with you if you wish to spend your night in Tambunan as it can be very cold, especially at night. I sometimes have to wear socks so I can sleep well at night.

Culture.

Tambunan also rich with its own traditional customs and culture. Most of the people here are dominated by Dusun ethnic. You probably hear their mother tongue language a bit similar to Kadazan Penampang. Well, they are. I will share about Tambunan culture more specifically in my next post.

Scenery.
There are so many magnificent views that you can see in Tambunan; Waterfalls, green paddy fields, rivers, etc.)

Some of the interesting places that you can go to in Tambunan:
1. Mahua waterfall (Read more)
2. Rafflesia information Centre (Read more)
3. TVRC ( Tambunan Village Resort Centre)

This picture was taken at 8.ooam.
My house is surrounded by paddy field and yes, you can hear the tranquil sounds of frog at night .

Paddy fields is a common view in Tambunan as most of the residents here works as a farmer.
So, just in case the rice prices is increasing, they have nothing to worry about as they have their own rice source.
The only thing they have to worry is the wild buffaloes that will eat the young paddy.

This pictures was taken from  low hill ( Bukit Matingi). It took us aroud 15 minutes to reach the peak.

What about you, friends?

Maybe you can share about your lovely hometown too.

Greetings

Hello and welcome to all bloggers! Thank you for spending your time reading through my blog even though I did not updated it often. Kindly leave your comments or criticism on any of my posts and hopefully I can visit your page as well. I created this blog since 2012 but only a few posts I managed to share since I am very busy, struggling for 3 years in campus. To be honest, I am not a person that really into posting or sharing status. However, recently I gave it a deep thought as there are so many things that I have been through until now (I am 23 years old). Pardon me for writing in English, It's like my Bahasa is not very good for now. I promise to change my language for the next posts.

Enjoy!

Love,

Amelia
